The workshop organized by Filemon at the youth center " A place to live" in Laeken and guided by Bram (Aifoon) and Rasa (FoAM)
was introducing different tastes and sounds by association methods.
The children involved created visual expressions of different edible ingredients and sounds that surround us. They correlated tastes and sounds in order to create an imaginary edible neighborhood.

The 7 young participants kids started their first session blind folded, smelling and tasting different vegetable extracts and ingredients.

On the 27th of April, Palm Top Theatre exhibition travelled to the new location of EMAF festival. Together with other two artworks, 'Immanentia', was selected to be part of European Media Art Festival in Osnabrueck, Germany
The EMAF is one of the most important forums of international Media Art, and is an open laboratory for creative and artistic experiments that help shape media and the aesthetics of their content.

In collaboration with Per Kristiansen, one of the original developers of LEGO SERIOUS PLAY, we are offering a facilitator training in Brussels in two open programs, both lasting two days: Stage 1 and Stage 2.

We'll be checking out Rachel Sussman's Long Now talk entitled ?The World's Oldest Living Organisms?. Rachel Sussman is a photographer whose works have been showcased throughout Europe and North America. (Perhaps you've seen some of her work already.) Her project has carried her around the world to document ancient lifeforms.

During this research gathering Kiran Gangadharan -who has an engineering and design background- will present a round-up of Project Decode. The gathering covers an outline of the project’s main goals and research approach through various studies, conceptual design and iterations and the collaboration with dancers and artists.

Kiran started his residency at FoAM on January 1st, 2011, continuing his research on 'growth'. The new node in his ongoing research is "Movementors", in which he relates to growth and form through the metaphor of movement.

RadioMUS-E – Lunch with Insects

On March 1st 2011, two school classes visit FoAM to broadcast their radio-programme and investigate edible insects.

In RADIOMUS-E children of elementary class develop and produce a radio-transmission based on the Flemish classic 'Erik of het klein insektenboek' by Godfried Bomans. Following two months of work with Elias Vervecken (bruitage) en Rebecca Lenaerts (theatre, radiostories), two classes from two Brussels' schools (De Wimpel, Elsene and St-Joris, Brussels), get a chance to meet each other on the 1st of March at FoAM.

Residency Kiran Ganghadaran

For the months of January and February 2011, Kiran is in residency with his ongoing research - the Project Decode.

The research is on looking at the prospects of an existence of geometrical structures in living and non-living beings and its potential application using new technologies and materials.

To re-look, the geometrical state of art which can bring new dimensions to surfaces/spaces in its physical well being of living and non-living existence.

Decoding the various elements in nature to its various geometrical relations and reflecting to a question why beauty is there.

Everything that lives and cohabits on earth is composed by mechanisms of living processes- animist encounter on reading the traces of life, growth and infiltration. The research addresses the space as a living organism, a body. It suspends, a poetic and symbolic interference that proposes the illness of the space as a metaphor, a reveal of spatial malfunctions, disabilities, and failures of its metabolism. The transformation on the space involves a methodology, trying to understand how organisms grow in common grounds of invasion, infiltration, catastrophe and collapse.
